System Services

WTC Design provides lighting system design, installation, and service for schools, houses of worship, performing arts venues, architecture, and any other space that needs lighting controls. Most projects run one of two ways: as a subcontractor to other installation or design companies, or independently designing and installing new systems directly for users, handling any part of the process from design to commissioning. Because Weston is also an active theatrical lighting designer, every system gets built the way an end user actually uses it, not just how it looks on paper.

Radford University - Radford Va

As a Barbizon Project Manager, Weston coordinated lighting system materials and installation alongside the electrical contractor. Years later, Barbizon brought him back as a subcontractor to troubleshoot erratic house light behavior, a multi-part issue he worked through to full resolution.

College of William and Mary - Williamsburg Va

As the Barbizon Project Manager of William & Mary’s new Performing Arts Center (a new two-building complex containing a black box, proscenium theatre, concert hall, and recital hall) Weston coordinated material delivery, installation, and troubleshooting with the electrical contractor. He also managed a team of technicians through stage fixture installation and focus in 2 of the 4 venues.

Nelson County High School

As a subcontractor, Weston was hired by Barbizon Capitol to handle low voltage cable terminations, device installation, CEM to CEM3 upgrades in Sensor dimmer racks, fixture hang and focus, and console and system training.

Midlothian High School - Chesterfield Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, in conjunction with the electrical contractor, Weston was responsible for the successful implementation, programming and training of new ETC Echo power management, ETC Paradigm architectural controls, installation of new stage lighting fixtures and installation of new ETC Ion control console.

St Catherines School - Richmond Va

As a Barbizon Project Manager, Weston was responsible for lighting system material coordination with the electrical contractor, navigating COVID-era supply chain issues, flagging spec issues with stage fixtures, and providing sales support for additional fixtures. He also coordinated installation with an on-site technician and personally delivered system and console training.

The Valentine Museum - Richmond Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for installing, wiring and ensuring control from the mosaic system. The exhibit focused on s specific arrangement of historical sculptural busts, lit with custom LED tape and micro spot lighting.

The Miller Studio - Richmond Va

Hired directly by The Miller Studio, Weston installed a new lighting system intended for dual use, built to serve their studio and performance space while remaining easily removable for pop-up performances at outside locations.

The Steward School

Hired directly by The Steward School, Weston replaced failing DMX distribution systems for both their black box and proscenium spaces.

Sixth and I Synagogue

As a subcontractor To Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for terminating DMX and network connections, and installing and configuring DIN Rail components, including pathway gateways and switches.

Owings Mills High School

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston led a crew through fixture hang, cabling, and focus, and configured the console show file.

West End Presbyterian Church - Henrico County Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for implementing new power and data controls, including ETC Paradigm and ETC Colorsource console controls, ETC DRd Dimming, and City Theatrical Multiverse, as well as Luminex and Pathway networking backbone. This install also included ChromaQ 2Inspire POE powered fixtures.

Gatton Park On the Town Branch - Lexington Ky

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Charlotte, Weston was responsible for hanging, and focusing ETC D60XT fixtures at a newly constructed outdoor amphitheater.

Jamestown High School - Jamestown Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for working with the electrical contractor to install a retrofit of ETC Echo architectural control and power products, as well as pathway networking equipment and an ETC Ion control console. Additionally, he installed and focused a new all LED light plot and provided training on the system and console to the end user.

Coalition Theatre - Richmond Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for installing new lighting fixtures and a ETC Nomad lighting controller. In addition, by request of the end user, Weston engineered a custom solution for programming and playback surfaces, and provided system and console training.

Cultural Arts Center Glen Allen - Henrico County Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, Weston was responsible for working with the electrical contractor and end user to successfully install, program and train on new lighting controls. This consisted of upgrading ETC Unison to ETC Paradigm, upgrading original ETC Sensor Dimmers to CEM3 backplanes and processors, and adding pathway via network infrastructure and Elation Obsidian Gateways.

West End Assembly of God - Henrico County Va

As an employee of Barbizon Capitol, Weston designed, sold, programmed and managed the installation of new house lighting fixtures and controls in the church sanctuary, which included ChromaQ Inspire XT LED Fixtures, ETC Dimming/power controls and ETC paradigm.

Reynolds Community College - Henrico County Va

As a subcontractor to Barbizon Capitol, in coordination with the electrical contractor, Weston was responsible for programming new ETC Echo Architectural controls, installing and terminating Pathway network infrastructure, installing and focusing ETC D22s on ETC Datatrack and programming and training the end user on an ETC Nomad controller.

Highland Springs and Tucker High Schools - Henrico County Va

As a consultant to Henrico County Public Schools, Weston designed a new controls system to replace the schools poorly implemented and maintained original controls. This project was passed on to Barbizon Capitol for purchasing and project management, and Weston was brought back to install the system. This was a mix of new ETC Echo Controls, ETC Ion Console, Pathway 0-10v control for house lighting, Netgear AV switches, and Obsidian Gateways.

First Baptist Church Ashland - Ashland Va

As a consultant to Church Technology Group, Weston designed and provided on site support for new house lighting power and controls, and new lamp specifications. This consisted of ETC DRd Dimming, in conjunction with existing Colorsource Console, and Desire Fixtures.

Kings Dominion Ferris Wheel - Doswell Va

Acting as the lead on site service technician for SPRK, Weston repaired multiple issues within the Ferris Wheel attraction's marquee lighting that were causing full section and partial outages.
